Even though the economy has been strained this year, people are just as interested as ever in being able to throw Christmas parties. The trick to doing this in a slow economy is to save money in ways that no one will notice. There’s no reason that can’t begin with the holiday invitations and include the decorations and any scrapbooks created to commemorate the event.

If you want to make your own invitations and you don’t want to use the invites on the Internet, one of the means to do that is to use good free Christmas clipart. Often there are cool images available on the web for no charge. Just search for “free holiday clip art,” plus the type of image you want. Christmas lights clip art, enter those words or some variation of them in the search box. The same will work with virtually any theme you can think of, although the more obscure the theme, the less results a search will garner. If you’re lucky enough to find high resolution art when you search, you’ll be able to use the images in a variety of ways. That’s because that print projects such as invitations or decorations require high resolution images. You certainly wouldn’t want to use low-resolution clipart because the end result won’t be clear. That would never do for the invitation or decorations for this special day.

But clipart isn’t the only Christmas art resource you can find free on the Internet. You can also find many sites online that offer free holly scrapbook paper. Many scrapbook paper and embellishment designers give away no-charge versions of their Christmas scrapbooking layouts to promote scrapbook designs they sell or to get people to come to pages that have advertising. Use of either model means they have financial incentive to offer free scrapbooking papers and embellishments. Either way, everyone wins! The themes for these are almost as numerous as there are stars in the sky, so that means you’ll probably be able to make holiday party invitations and decorations from them if you can’t find suitable clip art. Themes range from fun and silly to vintage to classy and luxurious, so there’s usually something for everyone.

And remember, these free holiday clip art images, scrapbook papers and embellishments can also be used to document the party in a scrapbook. That means any image searching you do will pay off in more ways than one!
